Position Overview

The Yard Foreman is responsible for safely managing the day-to-day operations of the non-rail activities at terminals and for the overall compliance to rules, regulations, and procedures by the Terminal Operator Team.

They are also responsible for the loading/unloading material work-orders with the following responsibilities

Roles and Responsibility

· Manage the day-to-day running of Etihad Rail Freight Terminals, non-rail, including DG operations as required,

· Shift supervision of the Gate Operations and Material Handling teams,

· Monitor the Gate Operations and Material Handling teams staffing levels ensure compliance to the roster plan, and report any shortfall to the Terminal Manager,

· Monitor truck bookings for first and last mile operation, and report any issues to the on-call manager,

· Monitor and manage stock levels at each location,

· Verifies materials loaded or unloaded in accordance with the work-orders.

· Plan the storage of materials and manage the loading/unloading activities to maximise the efficiency of the terminal,

· Directs workers to move materials or products to storage areas or production departments,

· Assigns job-tasks to workers according to loading and unloading time schedules,

· Operate and monitor SCADA equipment to facilitate the loading/unloading of trains, including cleaning,

· Input data as required to support the Terminals Operating System,

Lead and assist the Gate Operations and Material Handling teams to ensure total compliance with all safety requirements.

· Standard High School Education

• Experience:

· Previous rail or terminal operations experience preferred but not essential

• Essential Requirements:

· Advanced level of written and verbal skills in English,

. UAE Driving License,

. Analytical skills for problem solving with ability to use IT systems,

. Ensure compliance with ER Rulebook and applicable Procedures, and Instructions.
