The Role:

As a Chef de Partie for an Alshaya Brand restaurant, you will work within the kitchen team to assist the Sous Chefs in the effective running of the kitchen. You will be exposed to a multi-cultural working environment, with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, all sharing English as a common language.

You will be responsible for producing the dishes unique to your chosen brand, and will be influential in catering to a higher class of clientele, delivering to them a bespoke dining experience.

Additionally, you will train and mentor junior members of the kitchen team, as well as be trained by professional chefs in how to deliver an unmatched catering service.

Key performance Areas:

• Set up the mise-en-place in stations for the various meal periods in accordance with performance standards.
• Prepare food items according to the standard recipes.
• Prepare, check, and taste the food before the service.
• Train Employees including the Commis I and II.
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and there is minimum damage while in use.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times in the kitchen.
• Store food items properly in the fridge
• Keep food items and fridge tidy and clean at all times.
• Check that the temperature is within the guidelines.
• Check the quality and quantity of requisitions from the Commissary / kitchen as directed.
• Minimise wastage of all food items.
• Assist in minimising order and keeping the stock at a minimum level.
• Familiarise with all sections of the kitchen and ensures Employees are flexible enough to cover all areas of the kitchen.
• Maintain good working relationship with colleagues and all other departments.
• Comply with HACCAP standards in kitchen.

Qualifications & Requirements:

You will have/be:

– A relevant hospitality qualification would also be desirable.
