Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Role: Entrusted with the daily maintenance, operations and management of the golf maintenance department. Ensures the implementation and documentation of all maintenance programs to provide the highest possible standard of playing surfaces in order to deliver outstanding golf experiences. Represents both the club and the department in liaising with all relevant stakeholders both internal and external to the business. Develops and trains the team while implementing the agreed Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service at the Golf Arena and relates facilities.
- Oversees and enforces the golf shop operations policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources.
- Oversees merchandising for the golf shop.
- Oversees the supervision of the maintenance of golf carts and golf operations personnel.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Strives to improve service performance.
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relation.
- Providing exceptional playing surfaces and landscape in line with the SOP resulting in positive Guest experience. Guest feedback and Mystery Shopper platforms
- Analyzing operations and assigning resources accordingly.
- Seamless Communication across all levels of the business unit.
- Provide constructive feedback (on and off-the-job).
- Overall Asset Management.

- Training on Safety Procedures & Implementation of Health & Safety
- Environmental Stewardship
- Turfgrass Management including pest, weed and disease identification
- Irrigation Management
- Pesticide Legislation and Application
DESIRED PROFILE (QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY)
- Minimum of a high school diploma is required/ Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/soil science or a related field is preferred.
- Member of an industry organization such as GCSAA or BIGGA
- Displays an excellent understanding, planning, organization and implementation of the construction of new playing surfaces.
- Understands the club Financial Performance and the impact the golf course maintenance has on that
- Supervises, organizes and demonstrates good planning skills.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar position in a Golf Club.
- Pesticide applicators license or similar.
