For 25 years American University of Sharjah (AUS) has promoted ideas, research and creative work that have inspired development and change, driven by our core belief that tomorrow matters. Marking our Silver Jubilee this year, AUS was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The embodiment of His Highness’ vision, AUS is a place where students are nurtured and encouraged to excel academically, thrive socially, celebrate their cultural diversity, and have a positive influence in their communities. Located in University City, Sharjah, AUS is a not-for-profit, independent, institution of higher education formed on the American model. We offer 28 majors and 45 minors at the undergraduate level, 16 master’s degrees and three PhD programs through the College of Architecture, Art and Design; the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Engineering; and the School of Business Administration. These programs are designed to meet the challenges of a competitive and dynamic business and industrial environment. As a provider of quality higher education in the Gulf, AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801 USA) since June 2004. In addition, select AUS programs have received accreditation from organizations including the Engineering Accreditation Commission and the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of the United States, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International)
