Automation Engineer Full Time

JOB PURPOSE

The role holder is responsible for the maintenance of automation systems/processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining operations and improving overall efficiency. The successful incumbent must have good knowledge of automation technologies, programming, and problem-solving skills in automation.

Scope includes: Krones Line, Robotic Palletizer.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KPIs

• Maintain and troubleshoot automation solutions using Krones’ equipment and software.
• Industrial networks like Sensor networks, Control networks, Safety buses and fieldbus networks: Profibus, ProfNet, Ethernet, Pro Save, MPI port communications with food and beverages field.
• Advanced Programming levels like C/C++, HTML, SQL, ABB Robots programming.
• Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for process control and monitoring PLCs like Siemens S7200,300,400,1200 and 1500, Simatic Manager, TIA PORTAL, Allen-Bradley MicroLogix, CompactLogix & ControlLogix, B&R X20 series PLC’s programming, Krones HMI like a Zenon software.
• B&R Servo drives troubleshooting and programming and Siemens/Danfoss/Schneider Electric/PAC drives/Allen-Bradley drives with food and beverages field.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to ensure proper installation and functioning of automation components.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct training sessions for Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and other relevant personnel on the operation and maintenance of Krones’ automation systems.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction through automation.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Electronics Engineering or relevant
• 4+ years of experience in bottling water or beverage industry
• Hands-on experience with different types of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, and industrial control system.
