About the Position:
We are looking to recruit a Category Management Specialist to join Emirates Transport – Procurement team. This role is responsible for communicating with internal stakeholders to understand projects/requests requirement, source suitable suppliers, and prepare and manage tenders. Vendor and product range management will also be part of your duties.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories.
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
- Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
- Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands.
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
- Develop category management strategies for the assigned categories to achieve business objectives and profitability.
- Work with cost specialists in comprehensive cost analysis and cost modeling.
- Negotiate purchase prices and items for individual orders.
- Manage the development of effective negotiation and contracting strategies.
- Manage supplier sourcing and contracting as per company guidelines.
- Perform supplier management activities for assigned suppliers.
- Conduct and analyze supplier performance surveys and recommend improvements.
- Provide issue resolution for supplier service and quality issues.
- Coordinate with management for supplier agreement review, development, and maintenance.
- Manage and execute assigned category projects within allotted timelines.
- Prepare the supplier file according to company policies.
Expected Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or/and professional certifications
Experience and Skills Set:
- Knowledge and experience in buying MRO items like Tires, Batteries, lubes, consumables, spare parts
- 3-6 years in a relevant field
