Mgr Solution & Technology Architecture Full Time

Synopsis

We are looking for a Solution & Technology Architecture Manager to join Etihad for an 18-month fixed-term contract. The purpose of this role is to lead and develop solution architectures for Etihad’s digital web and mobile properties. Working as part of the commercial value stream, the role will ensure the alignment of solution designs conforming to regulatory demands, architectural standards, business requirements, budgets, and IT strategy. This role contributes to our Agile transformation journey by actively working with a value stream initiative to deliver cost-effective, quality technology solutions.

Accountabilities

• Responsible for the end-to-end solution design aligned with Etihad’s architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• As an integral part of the value stream, this role is responsible for developing solution intents and roadmaps along with target state architectures with clear transition steps in alignment with the value stream roadmap. This includes developing specific design patterns, standards, and an active architecture runway for the value stream on an ongoing basis.
• Develop the design and implementation of solution architecture as part of both agile and waterfall delivery, enabling innovation, cost efficiency, strategy alignment and speed to market.
• Using the Etihad Well Architected Framework, ensure that solution and technology architecture standards, governance, and principles are effectively implemented within the Value Streams.
• Works closely with all stakeholders in DTI to ensure the solutions defined and developed align with the agreed-upon technology roadmaps, business capabilities, and DTI strategy and are implemented as designed.
• Provide consultation to the product and project delivery teams within the assigned Value Stream, identifying ways to apply new or existing technologies to support business initiatives and innovation and facilitating the reuse of ideas, components, services, and proven patterns within the Value Stream.
• Contribute to improving the maturity of Architecture practice by constantly evaluating and making necessary changes to patterns, standards, policies, guardrails and other enablers.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related degree is desirable. One or more Certifications in solution and/or enterprise architecture are preferred. – e.g. Well Architected Frameworks, SAFe Architect, TOGAF, Open Certified Architect, ISEB Architecture.
• Solution and Technology Architecture expertise with at least eight years of work experience designing Enterprise grade solutions and at least two years of experience with either airlines or eCommerce businesses.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices architecture
• Experience in following different integration patterns for microservices, ensuring seamless communication and data flow between various components of an eCommerce system
• Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for microservices development and deployment.
• Experience in Digital Technologies with a focus on eCommerce, Offer & Personalization in web and mobile channels
• Experience with the architecture of mission-critical, high-transaction volume environments
• Experience with the entire software development life cycle using traditional and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in stakeholder management.
• Ability to work closely and collaborate with other architects, business teams, and project teams
• Experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, contributing to standard approaches, and delivering solution architecture supporting both agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Exposure to SAFe Agile and other methodologies preferred.
