Job Responsibilities

• Execute nursing interventions by collaborating with the inter professional team incorporating appropriate standards of care and practice and patient outcomes.
• Assess and systemically collect any data related to patient health status and works in collaboration with the care team to develop the plan of care.
• Evaluate patient’s response to plan of care and work in collaboration with the inter professional team to make any needed adjustments.
• Utilize data to continuously meet care coordination needs across settings in conjunction with the patient, family and/or other care providers.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for effectively managing nursing care of individual patients.
• Document nursing assessment and interventions to reflect comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
• Provide care that is safe, ethical, patient- and family-centered, culturally congruent and evidence-based.
• RN may be required to perform any or all of these skills and responsibilities. These may include but are not limited to:

1. Telephone and in-person triage (for symptom management)
2. Provide direct medical care to all patients.
3. Prepare necessary equipment for and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
4. Administer medication as prescribed.
5. Assist or perform procedures (e.g. ECGs, dressing changes, subcutaneous or intra-muscular injections, etc.)
6. Provide patient education.
7. Set priorities and handle emergency situations.
8. Accompany patients to hospital for further evaluation and management.
9. Provide 24 hours on call response to emergency calls from campus residents.
10. Assist with medication management (e.g. medication renewals).
11.  Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
12. Prepare daily statistical reports.
13. Attend activities hosted by other departments to supply on-site medical care if required.
14. Adhere to the Ministry of Health’s rules and regulations.
15. Attend lectures and CME’s required by the Ministry of Health.
16. Always maintain strict confidentiality ensuring medical health records are not released without the written permission of the patient, except as required by law.
17. Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment.
18. Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• Ministry of Health license
• UAE driving license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• A minimum of four years’ relevant experience in Outpatient and Emergency Department
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential. Arabic skills would be an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
