Translator Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Core Responsibilities:
• Delivery of translation services to support business or training requirements including:
• Provide translation services including contract preparation, amendment, summaries, memorandums and singing forms either electronically or as hard copy
• Translates and edits professional high-security materials from English into Arabic and vice versa.
• Provides all clients with a grammatical, well-expressed final version of the translated text, usually as a word-processed document, proofreads and edits final translated versions
• Researches specialized terminology for conversion into English assuring proper conversion of meaning and concept
• Reads through original material and rewriting it in Arabic language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained;
• Retains and develops specialist knowledge in the complex / security industry
• Liaises with the customer to discuss any unclear points and consults with experts in specialist areas
• Uses specialist dictionaries, thesauruses, glossaries and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used;
• Uses the internet and email as research tools throughout the translation process;
• Assist the Senior Translator to establish individual and collective work plans including objectives, timelines and milestone reviews for translation tasks
• Ensure that all products of the Translation team are of the highest possible quality consistent with time available and resources and delivered on time
• Prepare internal and external correspondences
• Follow up on the receipt of offsets, guarantees, contract, manage, arrange and coordinate translation files e.g. contracts
• Perform other responsibilities as directed by senior management team
Self-Management
• Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role
• Identify the training and development requirements for self and agree on them with the Head of the Subsection to ensure that required trainings are arranged and attended
• Set the performance goals in the beginning of the year after discussion with the Head of the Subsection and ensure that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
