Job Description
• 1 year experience as “Pipe Fitter” on board anchor handling tugs, DP vessel and Heavy lift pipe lay vessel on offshore oil fields.
• Valid marine certificate as per STCW 95.
• Must be able to work as part of a team in remote locations.
• Good written and spoken English skills.
• Ability to speak more than one language. (Will be of added value).
Skills Required
• Reports to Chief Engineer and shall undertake following duties as allocated and as signed by him.
• Perform installations, repairs, overhauls and startups of Marine HVAC and refrigeration system.
• Undertake major/minor repairs and maintenance of all refrigeration system, chiller and freezer rooms.
• Undertake major/minor repairs and maintenance of all galley cold counters and ice machines, drinking water fountains around the vessel.
• Record the usage of any Ozone Depleting substances (ODS) onboard the vessel in the ODS record book. Collect and dispose the used ODS as per company’s HSE policy.
• Maintain the inventory of refrigerants, Lubricating oils and spare parts related to HVAC equipment.
• Perform activities using related tools as per approved procedure.
• Maintain tools and equipment and report any observed defects/deviations /material shortages to the supervisor.
• Attend to cases of emergency repairs in the engine room.
• Compliance in accordance with section/company policies, policy of integrity, code of conduct and HSE standards.
