Commissioning Engineer Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Systems Integration team in our HQ, located in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Free Zone.

Scope:

Responsible for the testing, commissioning, and integration of security systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, speed gates, barriers and other related technologies. The role involves coordinating with clients, project teams, and vendors to ensure systems are fully functional, meet design specifications, and are delivered on time. Leveraging your expertise in security technologies and systems integration, you will work closely with clients, project managers, engineers and technical teams to deliver scalable and effective security solutions that meet their unique needs and requirements.

Responsibilities:                        

Financial 

• Closely monitor project budgets on resources and equipment to ensure no overspill.

Customer

• Engage with clients to understand their security challenges, objectives, constraints and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with pre-sales, engineering team and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide training and guidance to clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of security systems.
• Establish ongoing relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and address any issues or requirements.

Process

• Configure software and hardware for system integration, ensuring seamless operation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
• Develop and maintain commissioning checklists, test protocols, and detailed documentation.
• Commission security hardware and software components, including cameras, sensors, access control panels, and management systems as per client requirements.
• Provide technical support to clients and end-users during and after commissioning.
• Train clients on system operation and maintenance.
• Review project drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Load software, configure devices, and set up system parameters.
• Coordinate with installation teams to verify correct cabling, wiring, and device place.
• Conduct functional tests on CCTV, access control, alarms, intercoms, and integrated systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues during system startup.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and project documentation.
• Configure system integration between subsystems (e.g., linking access control to CCTV).
• Maintain detailed records of commissioning procedures and results.
• Prepare handover documentation for operations and maintenance teams.

Innovation

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings on each project.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments related to security system integration.

Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• At least 3-5 years proven experience in security system commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of security systems (CCTV, VMS, Access Control, Intrusion, Intercom, Speed Gates, PSIM).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and commissioning software.
• Knowledge of IP networking, control systems, and low-voltage electronics.
• Proficiency in security system platforms and software, such as Genetec, LenelS2, Milestone, and Axis Communications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong understanding of networking and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, RS485).
• Certified Security Systems Integrator (CSSI) or equivalent is preferred.
• Excellent communication with clients and contractor coordination.
• Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.
• Industry / Regulatory certifications such as SIRA and MCC, are advantageous.
• Travel to client sites as needed and work flexible hours to accommodate project schedules.
• Combination of office and fieldwork, often requiring work in challenging conditions.
