Munition Testing & Qualification Specialist Full Time

Role Purpose:

Technical expert responsible for the planning, execution, and analysis of all environmental testing activities within the department. This role ensures compliance with stringent environmental standards and regulations, drives continuous improvement in testing methodologies, and delivers accurate and reliable results.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Develop and execute comprehensive environmental testing programs, including temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, and other relevant tests. This involves setting up and operating environmental test chambers, monitoring parameters, and accurately analyzing test data.
• Develop and maintain environmental test procedures based on industry standards and customer requirements, ensuring all procedures are up-to-date and comply with safety regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of environmental testing equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions and coordinating repairs as needed to ensure equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to testing activities, implementing and maintaining safety protocols for handling and testing materials, and managing hazardous waste.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting test procedures, results, and conclusions, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, presenting test results to internal and external stakeholders, providing technical explanations and recommendations.
• Design and validate test setups and fixtures to ensure accurate and repeatable testing, collaborating with engineers and technicians for proper execution of environmental tests.

Main Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of military environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ISO).
• In-depth knowledge of environmental qualification principles specific to ordnance, including testing methodologies and data analysis.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and instrumentation.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in the defence industry, with a strong focus on munitions testing, qualification standards, and ordnance systems.
• Experience with operating and maintaining environmental test chambers and equipment.
