Provide strategic metallurgical leadership for FEED and Detail Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
Develop and supervise metallurgical design bases, material selection, corrosion control strategies, and materials data sheets to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
Lead material integrity programs, failure analysis, and interfaces with process, mechanical, and reliability teams.
Mentor engineers, drive quality and schedule adherence, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the selection and specification of materials for process equipment, piping, structures, and components exposed to corrosive environments and high-temperature service.
Develop and review metallurgical design basis, material specs, data sheets, damage mechanisms (corrosion, erosion, fatigue, creep), and repair strategies.
Conduct and supervise metallurgical analyses (corrosion rate assessments, creep/fatigue evaluation, line-of-sight failures, weldability, heat treatment, heat affected zone considerations).
Ensure compliance with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, NACE, ASTM) and project-specific requirements.
Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, corrosion, and reliability teams; manage vendors and third-party assessments.
Lead root cause investigations of material failures and implement corrective actions, lessons learned, and prevention plans.
