Facilities Maintenance Engineer Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining the facility maintenance work flow in an efficient manner while playing a key role in planning and completing a range of planned maintenance work & to actively participate in the setup of new projects.
• Plan, schedule, execute, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building infrastructure and facility equipment, including structural components, HVAC systems, chiller units, fire and safety systems and their accessories, diesel generators and ancillaries, water treatment systems, material handling equipment, MEP systems, LPG Tanks & ancillaries and electrical and water distribution networks.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, of maintenance activities, work orders and equipment history within SAP to enable effective traceability, reliability analysis and continuous improvement.
• Responsible for preparing design proposals, technical specifications, SLAs, and scope of work for external contractors, ensuring proper execution of building maintenance and facility equipment activities in compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Conduct frequent site visits, building inspections, facility equipment inspections to ensure the availability.
• Supervise and coordinate inhouse facility technicians, external contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of facility maintenance tasks.
• Manage and oversee routine facility maintenance requests, ensuring timely scheduling, execution, and completion.
• Directly guiding and supporting the facility maintenance team with clear technical instructions to ensure swift and effective issue resolution.
• Initiate and oversee the procurement process for facility-related services, equipment’s and materials through ERP systems, ensuring accurate scoping of requirements, vendor compliance, and timely acquisition to support maintenance operations and infrastructure sustainability.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of the critical components and reordering as required.
• Manage the preparation and issuance of gate passes and permit-to-work (PTW) systems in compliance with safety and operational protocols, ensuring all necessary documentation, approvals, and records are accurately maintained to support site access control and regulatory compliance.
• Read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support accurate troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of building systems and equipment, ensuring alignment with design code specifications and engineering standards.
• Support facility expansion projects, installation of new systems, equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects by providing technical input and overseeing installation activities.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements for building and facility equipment maintenance, including adherence to ADOSH (Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and Civil Defense regulations, to uphold safety, operational integrity, and regulatory approval.
• Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving facility and equipment’s condition and solving maintenance related problems.
• Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
• Maintains QMS ISO, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures and reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for facility maintenance technicians.
• Reporting the status of facilities, facility equipment’s, PM status, etc., on timely basis to department manager.
• Performs other tasks and duties as allocated by a Department Manager or superior.

HSE Roles and Responsibilities:

• Comply with reasonable OSH instructions and safe working procedures;
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems;
• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures;
• Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety;
• Assist with the preparation of risk assessments; and report OSH hazards, incidents, and issues

Experience and Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 6-8  years of experience in facility maintenance.

Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge of MEP Systems and industry best practices for their maintenances.
• Knowledge of building maintenance and industry best practices.
• Knowledge of safety standards, local building codes & civil defense regulations.
• Knowledge of Auto cad Software
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft D365.
• Good computer skills.
• Setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
