Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer Full Time

Core Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and validate tooling, jigs, gauges and fixtures required for high-precision manufacturing of ammunition components.
• Collaborate with production and process teams to ensure proper integration and setup of tooling and equipment.
• Establish technical specifications and requirements for purchased tooling and raw materials, such as cups, primers, propellants, and casings.
• Support machine commissioning and production readiness, ensuring all tooling performs within defined tolerances and capacity goals.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, including tooling designs, specifications, and change records.
• Monitor and assess tooling wear, conducting preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure process reliability.
• Use statistical process control (SPC) techniques to assess tooling performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to pilot batch qualifications and initial process capability studies for tooling and equipment.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling and process-related nonconformities.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimize tooling design and reduce cycle times.

Experience & Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM tools.
• 5+ years’ experience in the related field.
