Associate / Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering

The department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University invites applications for a full-time Assistant / Associate Professor in Computer Engineering to start in Spring semester 2025/2026.

 Candidates applying for this position should have a distinguished track record in research and a strong commitment to service, mentoring, teaching and making an impact in interdisciplinary research. Successful candidate will be appointed within the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduated with a Ph.D. from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record in computer engineering courses and in particular courses relating to Programming, Computer Organization, Networks, Network Security, Machine Learning, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers. The candidate is also expected to teach other CE courses such as Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, and Data Structure.
• Outstanding research and publications record in top journals.
• A record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage
• Only candidates who hold a PhD in the Computer Engineering field will be considered.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The selected applicant will be expected to:

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Computer Engineering.
• Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching
• Publish high-quality research in leading internationally recognized journals
• Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university levels as assigned
• Actively engage in promoting the growth of the Ajman University
• Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities
• Ability to provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community. 
• Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success
• Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system
• Ability to supervise student work
• Ability to provide academic advising for students
• Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences
• Ability to work effectively with diverse team members
• Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
