Oversee, review and approve the design (at all levels of detail) performed by others for all route alignment, land requirement and track works related to the railway network.
Interface and support other railroad related disciplines in addition to all civil, structural, and systems works associated with constructing the rail network.
Ensure the development and approval of the alignment, right-of-way and track works design criteria and special provisions, ensure track design criteria and the track design meet the performance criteria requested by Operation.
Contribute to the development of the project conceptual, preliminary, and final design for all aspects of the railway network if necessary.
Develop, or support the development of railway solutions at the pre-concept, or concept level, including any necessary alignment and earthworks design work, to explore potential commercial opportunities for the railway network
Coordinate with all other disciplines during the process of design development, and construction of the railway network. Participate in interdisciplinary reviews at all major milestones as mandated by the project Quality Assurance Management plan.
Ensure the coordination and execution of contracted services to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and specifications, as well as safety, contract terms, project budgets, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in all activities related to the civil scope of work during construction tender preparation and participate as required in tender technical evaluation, final design approval construction supervision, quality control, testing and commissioning as well as construction management of the project.
Review the construction programme and advise whether track components should be procured prior to the award of the Design and Build contracts.
Advise on the choice of the track components through “RAMS” process and Life Cycle Cost analysis.
Support the Construction Department on track related issues during the construction, and carry out routine inspection during construction.
Contribute to technical surveys, such as topographical and geotechnical as well as the development of the environmental impact assessment (EIA). This may include, but is not limited to, defining technical specifications, tender support and document review and day-to-day management
Assist the PMC (Project Management Consultant)/the Engineer staff for all technical issues related to the railway construction.
Support the Construction Department for the testing and commissioning.
Participate in the conceptual design of the ‘End User Requirements’.
General Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to Hafeet Rail’s other business units on issues pertinent to job function; participate in performing routine checks and inspections to ensure the highest safety and quality standards are being maintained if required.

Adapt to, and participate in, any programs/changes in Hafeet Rail including but not limited to strategic initiatives, operational initiatives and performance uplift tasks; conduct any relevant work that may result from these changes as an integral part of this job description and employment contract.
Help support the organization in extraordinary events such as claims by contractors, dispute reviews and participation in arbitration.
Perform any other activity as required by the company both at the company premises and remotely when requested by the company.

Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor (preferable Master) in Civil Engineering or related field.
