Primary purpose of the role
Works with building materials (most often wood) either at work site or in a workshop. Shapes and cuts materials. Installs finished materials like doors, window shutters, window frames, floorboards, etc. once they are cut and shaped.
Key Accountability Areas
- Constructs and repairs structural woodwork as per Line Manager’s instruction – Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework
- Install items, such as window shades, venetian blinds, and curtain rods, wall fans, and door locks for tenants.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Orders building materials as needed
- Creates materials that fit the client’s expectations
- Assembles sturdy and well-constructed floorboards, skirting boards, window frames, doors, door linings, staircases, fitted furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and more
- Keep track of repairs made or areas that need more attention
- Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
- Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions

Education and Qualifications
High School / Diploma in any technical trade, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience
2-4 years of experience in installation and maintenance in the area of carpentry
Knowledge & Skills
Previous carpentry experience
Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage situations promptly and professionally, meeting commitments for service and assistance.
Able to maintain effective communication at all times.
Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
