Consultant Hematopathology  Full Time

Summary of Main Duties

•    Provide clinically appropriate interpretation and reporting on tests.
•    Ensure reports are released on a continuing and timely basis
•    Work and communicate effectively with other team members to mutually agreed work schedules
•    Facilitate access to tests and provide timely reporting that facilitates efficient patient flows and meets treatment objectives
•    Utilise resources (investigations options, staff resources and session time) in an optimal way for effective patient care.
•    Adhere to the protocols, guidelines and practice standards pertaining to the area of clinical practice
•    Attend and actively participate in clinical departmental meetings
•    Liaising with Non-clinical/Clinical staff.
•    Obtaining patients informed consent or applicable.
•    Maintaining a good working relationship and professional conduct with all members of the staff and hospital staff.
•    Providing on call coverage on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends, and Public Holidays, as required.
•    Participating in medical staff conferences, meetings and serve on hospital Committees, as requested.
•    Assuming other duties as may be assigned by the department head.
•    Carrying out the duties and responsibilities detailed in any department specific job description or statement of roles and responsibilities.
•    Participation in administration and compliance with JCI procedures and regulatory requirements.
•    Encourage multi-disciplinary teamwork
•    Disseminate and implement hospital’s policies & procedures.
•    Participate in Quality improvement activities meeting JCI & regulatory requirements.
•    Implementing clinical pathway/Guideline or applicable.

Responsibilities

Position Requirements/Qualifications

Required
•    American Specialty Board or equivalent in accordance with MOH requirements.
•    3 year experience following board certification in an active, acute care accredited institution or equivalent.
Desirable
•    BLS Certificate
•    ACLS Certificate

Licenses/Registration
Required
•    UAE Ministry of Health License
