Job Description
Provides administrative support for laboratory management and pathology services.
Responsibilities
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Upholds ethical practices and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Provides reception support for the laboratory.
- Supports transcription, filing, report distribution, etc.
- Maintains general office supplies.
- Participates in laboratory Quality Improvements (QI) activities.
- Assists with follow-up of incidents/accidents and patient and staff complaints.
- Engages in the lab monthly focus group.
- Participates regularly in continuing education activities.
- Liaises with internal and external laboratory clients as required.
- Maintains open lines of communication with the Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach /Supervisor, section supervisors, colleagues, and other hospital services as needed.
- Responds to test/report inquiries from laboratory clients.
- Assist in specimen and Outreach Patient registration as required.
- Responsible for assisting in ordering of all reagents, supplies, consumables, and any other inventory item(s) related to the operation of the Laboratory.
- Data collection ,entry and documentation of the Laboratory Operations /Quality related documents required for Laboratory accreditation.
- Collaborate with lab technicians, pathologists, or other lab staff to ensure that specimens are properly directed.
Qualifications
•High School Graduate
•Bachelors Degree in Business/Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
•Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administrative and coordinator positions preferably within a hospital or laboratory within the UAE preferred
•Knowledge of computer applications with word processing packages (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and email systems)
•Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
