JOB SUMMARY

The role will work closely with country commercial teams, account managers, sales, business development, etc. to identify, qualify, and pitch compelling value propositions to both new and existing customers as well as build the required logistics capabilities needed. The role will also require supporting strategic development of logistics and supply chain solutions in DPW MEA by developing and growing new and existing logistics capabilities in the MEA Region.

The role will work closely with other departments (ex. SEZ, PEZ, Head office, BDV, etc.) to coordinate strategy and priorities for the MEA region in logistics and help bring these strategies to life. The role will be customer facing and will involve working with commercial and business development teams for nominated customers and projects (existing and new). As Logistics solutions Engineer you will work closely with the countries to address our customers requirements by developing and deploying cost-effective, high-quality landside transport, customs house brokerage and high quality warehousing solutions for our customers to be effectively implemented and executed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

1. Develop solutions in line with logistics strategy and customer needs
2. Develop and maintain solution concepts (ex. landside transport solutions)
3. Interpret and analyze gathered customer requirements and translate into a solution proposal
4. Asses overall implementation requirements, e.g. FTE’s, costs, EDI development, facilities capabilities, equipment/services, etc.
5. Lead & Support implementation of projects including designing solutions/processes where needed to ensure optimal delivery / outcome whilst in implementation phase
6. Develop and implement specific products and a commercial go-to-market strategy on the logistics businesses in MEA
7. Promote the services and products of all entities, and coordinate sales efforts with other department sales.
8. Evaluating sales trends, market conditions, competitor activity and update this in the relevant OS e.g. CRM
9. Assimilate market information and take part in the overall business development through weekly / monthly meetings.
10. Business Development for logistics by identifying potential opportunities that fit into the DP World MEA’s and global strategy

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Commercial Execution – Commercial Execution and Implementation –
  • Proven execution experience: Proven track record in launching & driving a strong execution mindset when building and deploying new logistics solutions (ex. Inland transport solutions, CHB, Warehousing and Distribution, etc.)
  • Project Management Experience: Relevant project management experience in leading projects from design to implementation phase including stakeholder management.
  • Interpreting Financial and Market Analysis: Understands financial and market analyses to build a case for taking a strategic position and informing the business strategy and supporting due diligence process.
• Commercial / Strategy – Creative and Analytical Thinking
  • Analyzing Situations: Effectively uses a step-by-step method to analyze a problem, perceiving the problem through multiple lenses and then deriving an answer or solution.
  • Interpreting Data: Interprets information and data to reach conclusions and present insights and findings on the underlying principles, reasons or facts.

• Logistics and Supply Chain:
  • Contract logistics: In depth knowledge of Landside Transportation, Customs House Brokerage, Warehousing and Distribution, LCL and Consolidation, etc.
  • Solution Sales: Supply Chain solution design based on understanding of customer needs and pain points including managing CRM platform development
  • Third Party Agency: Experience in managing third party agents across a range of products
• Commercial / Strategy – Industry Knowledge
• • Knowledge of Industry Elements: Utilizes in-depth understanding of key industry terminology, industry players, and key performance indicators to draw conclusions about trends.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

This position must have the skill (and a proven track record) in launching and mounting logistics solutions with on the ground experience in the MEA region

Essential Qualification: University Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Related

Desirable Qualification: Project Management (PMBOK | PRINCE2), CSCP, etc.

Work Experience: At least 2-5 years’ experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding or within a transport related environment or related industry.

Technical skills required to perform the role: Candidate must display experience in the implementation of contract logistics solutions. Strong financial acumen. Stakeholder management. Previous experience in project management. Analytical mindset.
