About the job
To carry out routine maintenance work and checks on instruments, electrical and electronic equipment at the main compressor station and the M&R, according to an established schedule. Diagnose faults and carries out repairs at work site or in workshop. Adheres to all required safety procedures:
– Carries out the maintenance and repair on the SCADA systems consisting of Servers, work stations, Digital Process Controls, Computer and associated peripheral units at the Main Compressor Station and Metering and Regulating Stations in accordance with Corporation regulations and internationally accepted standards and codes.
– Carries out uploading & downloading of software programming for the SCADA and Telemetry systems, flow computers, carries out back up activities and modifies hardware and software parameters when required.
– Carries out periodic witness calibration of all equipment at the Compressor station and M&R stations.
– Provides specialist advice to Instrument and Electrical Technicians on a variety of instrument and electrical systems for example during calibration and fault finding.
– Carries out cable jointing for telecommunication system.
– Carries out on-call responsibility out of normal working hours according to Rota.
– On occasions deputies for the Instrument and Electrical Supervisor (IES) on specific duties as directed by Senior Control Engineer (SCE).
– Maintain safe work processes, control procedures and guidelines to ensure process safety, operational safety and plant integrity
– Complies to health, safety and environmental excellence procedures and controls for activities under area of responsibility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
