Teacher of Food Science & Nutrition  Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Food and Nutrition, covering areas such as food science, nutrition, and cooking techniques.
• Support students in developing their understanding of sustainable food practices, food production, and health and safety regulations.
• Foster a creative and hands-on learning environment where students are encouraged to experiment and innovate in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a well-rounded and cohesive curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and educational goals.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements.
• Participate in extracurricular activities related to food and nutrition, such as cooking clubs or food-related events.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, or related subject.
• PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition with a strong record of student achievement.
• Being able to teach Design and Technology at KS3 would be desirable but not essential.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching both in and outside the classroom.
• Strong IT and communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A commitment to career growth, leadership, and sustainability in education.
