Vice President Full Time

Role Purpose:

To direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of EMARAT’s Aviation Operations with the objective of maintaining EMARAT’s joint venture assets and products at Dubai, Jebel Ali, Sharjah & Fujairah International Airports as well as upstream jet fuel storage facilities in line with EMARAT’s strategic priorities and goals and as per international standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Planning & Implementation

• Contributes to the development and implementation of the Terminals & Logistics Department’s strategic priorities and goals
• Ensures business processes and work activities, relevant to position, are planned and executed in compliance with EMARAT policy, procedures and best practice to achieve business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
• Conducts periodic review of policy, procedures and practices, relevant to position, to identify opportunities for improvement and engagement in best practice
• Liaises with Department Manager to clarify, justify and provide updates on all significant developments undertaken by the Aviation Operations Section
• Generates reports as per management request, timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards

2. Budgeting

• Contributes to the preparation of the (annual) departmental business, operating plans and capital expenditure budget, in alignment with the key corporate goals, to meet departmental business objectives
• Analyze cash flow, cost controls and expenses within own Section towards optimum utilization of company’s resources
• Conducts financial prudence in all decisions and monitor variances between actual expenditure and budget; approves operational expenses within level of authority
• Reviews and responds to queries related to expenditure reports and provides justification for any budget overspend

3. Aviation Operations

• Maintains technical data with respect to aviation products and equipment, updates the same through feedback from the Aviation Superintendents and through contacts and communications with specifications forming international bodies, equipment manufacturers and the multinational oil corporations
• Issues instructions and guidelines in the assigned area as necessary,   keeps Terminals & Logistics Manager and senior management advised of all developments in the industry
• Conducts discussions with aviation consultants on the selection of equipment, components sub-systems, specifications and data sheets, alternatives for basic systems concepts etc. in line with the Corporation’s requirements and industry demands.

4. Technical & Quality Control

• Conducts regular quality control and equipment audits, provides guidelines to operating locations and submits recommendations for improvement to senior management
• Maintains quality control manuals incorporating any amendments issued by the international bodies
• Manages all quality control activities / inspections conducted by JV partners, customers’ representative and government bodies, takes corrective actions to adjust activity and/or develop new procedures/processes

5. Business Development

• Initiates and conducts economic studies to improve efficiency in Aviation Operations and customer service
• Identifies opportunities to expand existing portfolio of aviation products and potential expansion opportunities, develops project reports and concept notes for Senior Management consideration

6. Stakeholder Management

• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with oil companies required to meet EMARAT’s business and operational objectives
• Represents EMARAT on all aviation projects
• Works effectively, proactively and with urgency across EMARAT and externally to ensure the delivery of joint services/results that meet EMARAT’s interests, and for knowledge sharing

7. People Management

• Motivates staff and empowers direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to support Section goals and objectives
• Establishes clear direction, prioritizes tasks, assigns and delegates responsibility and monitors the workflow of the Section
• Builds opportunities for staff to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Provides guidance and ensures that the Section members comply with EMARAT’s policies, processes, practices and systems
• Ensures proper target setting and staff performance management in line with EMARAT performance management guidelines

Qualifications:

Knowledge: Knowledge of aviation products and equipment

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Experience: A minimum of 10 years experience within Aviation with at least 3 years experience in a managerial role. Experience in the Oil & Gas Distribution Industry preferred
