Key Accountabilities:

• Read and interpret manufacturing information, tool lists, drawings and other instructions to determine specifications of tools as per the assigned project
• Ensure all tools are accurately set up as per the part specific tool list from engineering, and machine is ready for operations
• Operate tool pre-setting, shrink fitting and measuring system to provide inspection of tool geometries, correct pre-set of tool’s nominal lengths and diameters, run-out, concentricity, wear, and condition of inserts
• Use various measuring devices such as indicators, callipers, gauges, etc. to ensure proper tooling adjustment
• Inspect, test and adjust tools for conformance to blueprint specifications
• Examine and inspect the cutting tools to detect malfunctions or defects in order to update the tool inventory
• Keep a record of accurate data in the Tool Management system maintaining 100% Quantity entry as per the actual work done
• Prepare and supply cutting tools needed for CNC machine set up in all work centres
• Keep track of all tools issued to production including defective tools returned for re-ordering, and ensure the Tool Management System is updated with latest and accurate data
• Assist operators in the maintenance of machine to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently; perform minor machine maintenance, such as lubricating, adding coolant or cleaning machines, tools and equipment
• Monitor tool inventory to ensure optimum level of stock is available to efficiently run the production; report to the supervisor for any shortage
• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g. Safety goggles, dust masks, etc.)

Experience & Education Qualifications:

• High School Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
• Certification / Training in CNC Machine operations from a recognized institute
• 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with tooling, tool setting, and use of basic hand tools

Key Skills:

• Ability to read and understand blue prints
• Knowledge of Cutting Tools Pre-setting, Heat Shrink Fit Machines
• Knowledge of common machine shop measuring equipment such as indicators, callipers, gauges
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Attention to detail
• Planning and organizing.
