Job Description
- Performs all functions and duties of an Medical oncological surgeon provides expert medical care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients, including pre- and post-operative cases and such Medical Oncology procedures as are within incumbent’s competence.
- Provides consultation services to physicians and other surgeons and other specialists if and when required.
- Assumes after-hours responsibilities for the care of assigned surgical cases and makes daily rounds for those hospitalized.
- Orders diagnostic laboratory studies and X-ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy.
- Determines the eligibility of patients for admission.
- Adheres to the By-laws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Department and assures that work performed is in keeping with the established standards of the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals.
- Consults with anesthesiologist on the choice of anesthesia to be used.
- Participates in and contributes to in-service activities such as lectures, conferences and rounds.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance activities of the Service (morbidity and mortality reviews, peer review activities etc.).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of the department.
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, MOH regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship.
- Post-graduation and Super specialization in Medical oncology from a recognized medical university.
- At least Five (5) years of practice limited to oncological surgery since certification.
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
