Job Description
Performs all functions and duties of an Medical oncological surgeon provides expert medical care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients, including pre- and post-operative cases and such Medical Oncology procedures as are within incumbent’s competence.
Provides consultation services to physicians and other surgeons and other specialists if and when required.
Assumes after-hours responsibilities for the care of assigned surgical cases and makes daily rounds for those hospitalized.
Orders diagnostic laboratory studies and X-ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy.
Determines the eligibility of patients for admission.
Adheres to the By-laws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Department and assures that work performed is in keeping with the established standards of the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals.
Consults with anesthesiologist on the choice of anesthesia to be used.
Participates in and contributes to in-service activities such as lectures, conferences and rounds.
Participates in the Quality Assurance activities of the Service (morbidity and mortality reviews, peer review activities etc.).
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of the department.
To follow appropriate international guidelines, MOH regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship.
Post-graduation and Super specialization in Medical oncology from a recognized medical university.
At least Five (5) years of practice limited to oncological surgery since certification.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
