Laboratory Technician Full Time

Job Purpose

To carry out all laboratory related duties for medical center’s side laboratory in line with approved laboratory processes and procedures. This includes successfully maintaining records of laboratory tests, equipment, and generating reports to submit to the GP & medical staff.

Key Result Responsibilities

–    Organising, preparing and managing a side laboratory under the guidance of the GP.
–    Collecting, receiving, labelling, and/or analysing samples or substances using the correct testing equipment, when necessary.
–    Executing laboratory testing in line with approved testing procedures, recording observations, and interpreting findings.
–    Recording all data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and/or electronic.)
–    Organizing and storing all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
–    Ensuring that safety guidelines are adhered to at all times within the laboratory.
–    Maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
–    Cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment.
–    Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed.
–    Providing technical support, when necessary.
–    Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

•    Hold a Laboratory Technician Degree
•    Valid MOH laboratory technician license.
•    Proficient in MS Office Suite and database systems.
•    Fluent in English Language (Arabic is a plus), verbal and written
•    Competent Numerical skills

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
• Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment.
• Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.)
• In depth knowledge of QHSE management systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices.
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
• Superb dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work 24-hour shift pattern/roster (may be required in future)
