Mason  Full Time

Purpose of the Job:

To maintain sites in good condition, laying materials such as concrete and bricks, and constructing or repairing surfaces and structures according to project requirements. The Mason will perform a range of masonry and tiling tasks, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.

Job Accountabilities:

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for work by cleaning, leveling, or making them ready for masonry or tiling tasks.
• Fabrication & Repair: Fabricate, alter, repair, and maintain various structures and surfaces such as walls, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, partitions, manholes, and other related surfaces.
• Brick & Block Laying: Lay blocks or bricks in accordance with blueprints, plans, or drawings provided for the project.
• Work Sequencing: Determine work requirements and the sequence of masonry or tiling tasks based on work orders, plans, or drawings.
• Layout & Marking: Accurately lay out work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares, and levels to ensure precision in construction.
• Cement Mixing: Mix cement using hoes, cement-mixing equipment, or hand tools to prepare the right consistency for various masonry tasks.
• Cutting & Breaking: Cut or break bricks and concrete as needed using hammers, powered abrasive saws, paving breakers, drills, or hand tools.

Qualifications & Education:

• High-school diploma or relevant certification in construction or masonry.
• Additional certifications in masonry or construction safety are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar masonry role within the agriculture industry or construction sector.
• 5+ years of experience for Senior Masons and 2–3 years of experience for Masons in landscaping and construction works, specifically in laying bricks, blocks, and paving.
• Experience in paving works, including interlocking paving and external flooring installation.
