Porter – Pharmacy Full Time

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Quality and Accuracy
  • Arranges medication for delivery by Nursing Unit.
  • Prioritizes medication for delivery to Nursing Units.
  • Immediate delivery of urgent orders.
  • Timely delivery of routinely ordered medication.
  • Timely delivery of floor stock.
  • Return of discontinued medication from Nursing Units to Pharmacy.
  • All deliveries are accurate (correct Nursing Unit, dose bin)
  • Documentation is complete (obtains signature of person receiving; ensures that return for credit forms are filled)
  • Unpacks medication deliveries.
  • Quantity /Organizational Skills
  • Arranges stock in correct location and in the correct alphabetical order.
  • Identifies medication requiring special storage conditions.
  • Reports if any short expiry/ expired medication is noticed with in nay pharmacy storage locations
  • Perform all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner as required or assigned
  • Supports hospital policies and serves as a professional role model for all staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

Professional Experiences:

  • Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or related setting.
  • Familiar with stock rotation, expiration date monitoring and others.
  • High degree of accuracy in performing functions.
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills.
