1. Provide support in matters concerning structure and airframe related activities including material and processing (including manufacturing, testing, verification) tasks.
2. Ensure follow up of all structural engineering activities including processes that its suppliers use in the fabrication, manufacturing, validation, maintenance, modification, repair and overhauling of airframe structures.
3. Coordinate with the personnel designing, fabricating, modifying or testing of all airframe structures.
4. Conduct structural analysis and deliver evaluation reports of aircraft in applicable engineering context, such as advance structural integrity programs, fatigue analysis programs etc.
5. Evaluate and manage the activities on the airframe platforms to ensure conformance to structural engineering principles, customer requirements and quality standards.
6. Contact with OEM for the approval and resolution of engineering problems related to aircraft structures.
7. Provide evaluation and embodiment authorization for all OEM SB, AD, Technical Notices etc., as applicable.
8. Analyze related technical publications and manuals, work instructions, repair schemes, design data etc. to define and deliver the documentation required to perform structural engineering tasks.
9. Formulate applicable technological and theoretical models to analyze, develop, evaluate or modify designs according to customer’s engineering requirements compliant with relevant safety standards.
10. Recommend and deliver dispositions of structural engineering technical problems and/or technical reports and other documentation, such as handbooks and bulletins, for use by engineering staff, management and customers.
11. Evaluate and recommend alternatives for the selection of equipment applicable to structures engineering.
12. Evaluate compliance of products with the appropriate quality or certification requirements and coordinate with the authority to meet/sustain the requirements.
13. Prepare and submit Structures Engineering documents such as, but not limited to, EREQ, Repair schemes, Evaluation reports, SoW, Engineering Dispositions and Instructions.
14. Attend conferences, workshops, etc. as necessary to remain abreast of technical advances in the field of aviation with respect to the customers’ aircraft being supported by Program Manager.
15. Maintain contact with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Program and other departments for the technical activities requiring engineering input.
16. Provide technical solutions by, but not limited to:
– Consulting relevant technical documentation
– Liaising and getting support from engineering reach-back support sections
– Communicating with the aircraft manufacturer (OEM) and its vendors
– Designing a solution after gathering relevant details
17. Create Engineering Instructions to provide procedures for tasks not available in OEM publications.
18. Write Engineering Technical Report to inform management and the customer about important issues/defects/incident/events.
19. Provide technical (Engineering level) on-field support for I and O level maintenance issues
20. Monitor critical issues affecting overall readiness, support- ability and safety of the aircraft.
21. Communicate with the aircraft manufacturer (OEM) and its vendors for defect analysis, troubleshooting queries, suggestions and improvements.
22. Perform deferred defects case study.
23. Participate and support in troubleshooting complex issues.
24. Approve alternate P/N requests originating from Supply.
25. Compile, evaluate and present reliability issues affecting the aircraft
26. Collect, transmit (to OEM) and/or analyse data retrieved from devices such as FDIMU, QAR, SHMS, VDR, HUMS etc.
27. Perform assessment of Technical Publications such as SBs, TCTOs, VSBs, ADs and other Publications; Define applicability and coordinate the embodiment.
28. Ensure Airworthiness of the aircraft by maintaining embodiment/modification database record and reporting back to the OEM.
29. Provide clarification/correct interpretation for technical documentation.
30. Check, review and download OEM reports/analysis from the OEM secure channel/network/portals like airbus world, ADS CSWP, livelink/exostar, aeromanagers, etc.
31. Review and recommend procedures and propose improvements to maintenance activities which require technical inputs.
32. Maintain liaison with the base manager, shop managers, OEM technical representatives etc. as necessary to insure specs, schedules, capabilities and limitations are properly understood.
33. Assist the ALHUR functional groups, i.e. business development in analyzing major programs/projects for future contracts.
34. Develop capability of tasks that can be performed in-house.
35. Obsolescence tracking, monitor obsolete parts and provide recommendations for future support.
